Family Guy: The Hauntening Event Concept and Vector Art
The theme for this October event District was 'Haunted Hotel'. Our inspiration was the board game 'Clue'. I have played this game a LOT and loved the movie, what could be better than a murder mystery game on a dark, stormy night?
A player would progress by moving through the hotel's interior space, investigating clues in each room as they unlock every week. This event District is different from our usual because it exists on an alternate playspace. A player could access this other space by clicking on a spooky path through the woods which appears while the event is active. The fun thing about working on an alternate playspace for me is that I can change the colors of things like the grass and tree tiles which we usually never alter. This allows for darker, night lighting which helps create a scarier feel and lets me play with light spilling out of the windows.

Family Guy: Peter's Booty Haul Event
AAAArrrr!!!
Q: Why don't pirates shower before they walk the plank?
A: Because they'll just wash up on shore later!
Q: Why is pirating so addictive?
A: They say after ye lose yer first hand, ye get hooked!
I love pirates, could you tell? I had a great time designing our pirate event. This was the first time we had an event take place in the water, and it was super exciting for me because it involved ship battles, sea monsters, giant skull caves, whirlpools and buried treasure...
OOkay one more...
Q: What does has 8 eyes, 8 hands and 8 legs?
A: Eight pirates!!
The pirate ships were vectored by The lovely and talented Miss Wilma Lai!

Family Guy: Truth, Justice, and the Quahog Way
Words cannot express how much I geeked out over our getting to work on a DC event ...gaaaaahhhh!! Life is good. I love my job!
My task was to build Gotham-ish but still Family Guy-ish city scape.

Family Guy: Peter's Prehistoric Park Event
We were all so excited about the new Jurassic Park movie, that a dino theme park event was inevitable!
I'd like to mention that the super talented artist, Paloma of TinyCo completed the vectored version of both the central building, and the amber mine rollercoaster.

Family Guy: Greek Life Event Concept and Vector Art
I am FINALLY posting some of the 2D vector art I made while working for TinyCo/JamCity on the game Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff.
The theme of this event was Greek Mythology! In this event space, the central fountain has several upgrades, and the player progresses by unlocking, then appeasing the giant deities located in the surrounding temples.
I begin with a quick and loose drawing of the concept which I then paint in Photoshop. After receiving feedback and making changes, I start to build a vector version of the event.
I had a lot of fun creating the concepts for the Greek Gods. Athena in particular has always been a favorite mythological figure of mine. I was delighted that we were able to include her owl. Please note that I made the concepts, but the final vectored version of the deities were completed by another artist.

In the following image. I have shown how each asset is given a bounding box, named, color coded and exported separately. I then create 2 maps. One shows how each piece fits into the space and what its dimensions are on the grid. The second map shows where each tile (laying beneath the art) will be placed.
When complete, (and after fixing the inevitable visual bugs) each piece should fit together over the tiles seamlessly

Family Guy: Boomsday Event
I have always been super obsessed with post apocalyptic movies and books. The Road Warrior has been a hero of mine since before I can remember, so imagine my delight at my next assignment, a Doomsday event district! Sadly, we did not get the license for Mad Max, but a lot of the event was inspired by the desert landscapes and twisted rusty metal look from the franchise.

Family Guy: A Grimm Night in Quahog Event
This event was one of my FAVORITES both to make, and to play. I have always been a HUGE fan of the movie Princess Bride so when I heard we were building an event around it, I was head over heels. The Grimm event was very challenging because of all the technical requirements it had to meet while still trying my best to make things look fun and organic.

- There would be 3 varieties of dragon (designed and vectored by Teri) which would upgrade as a player progressed.
- Two towers with captured characters on top waiting to be rescued.
- Four Away Mission training areas where a player improved their skills (vectored by Paloma)
- Two mystery boxes (Brian and Stewie statues that produce prizes) (vectored by Wilma Lai)
- A building to craft prizes
- A market where a player could buy new buildings and decos in exchange for items earned
- The castle gates would act as a portal spawning new varieties of squatters each week
