The Mayan village is my wonky version of isometric perspective. I didn't want it to appear as stiff and lifeless as the more precise isometric buildings, so I went wild with color and breaking the lines to keep this piece fun and stylized.

Pixy Kids: Interactive Space Background
This is a freelance job for Pixy Kids. It is a 'space' themed background painted in Photoshop.
All of the little pieces (ex: satellite, asteroids) are interactive; they were painted on separate layers so they will be animated in Flash to perform different movements. The piece is painted repeating so it can be seen seamlessly scrolling through the windows of the 'pod'.
Please note that I cannot take credit for the pod interior, it was designed by another artist.
